Blank Stares

Every couple of weeks or so we have a SOZO | Pivotal Day where we focus just on the business. No phone calls or client meetings. No projects other than the ongoing project of building the company. This last week we talked about how to very simply communicate with prospects what it is we do so that they understand without following up with, "So, you do websites?" or "You're a
graphic designer?"

SOZO | Pivotal is a brand, identity and design company that helps its clients communicate their message through WORDS, IMAGERY and EXPERIENCES. This simple sentence sums it all up (even more specifically those three words). Obviously we know there's more to our work and the process of effective branding, but at first introduction keeping it simple and using terms everyone understands is best.

There's research and understanding of a company's business. There's business skill and brand strategy. There's a partnership that we strive to achieve and deep client communication that can't be done entirely via email. Trying to communicate that to a prospect usually only brings blank stares.

(We look forward to sharing more business and company-building insights from future SP Days.)
